Upcoming Shows and Events at Ballet Now

Colorado Ballet's Peter Pan

We have tickets reserved for the final dress rehearsal of Colorado Ballet’s Peter Pan on Friday, February 24th at 10:30 am. This performance is downtown at the Ellie Caulkins theater. If you are interested in taking your child there is a signup sheet at the front desk. It is $10 a ticket and payment is due at time of reservation. Please note that seating is very limited so this offer is only open to students and their parents at this time. Extra tickets will be open to friends and other family members any time after Feb 13th until they run out.

SPRING RECITAL 2012

Ms. Cathrine and Ms. Christina are hard at work getting ready for our spring recital. Costumes have been chosen; pictures can be seen at the front desk.

Costume Fees: Fees are listed on the page with each costume: Tues/Wed 6:30/Thurs 5:15 = $38 - Mon 6:30/Tues 5:30 = $50 - Mon 5:30 = $48 Adult and Teen costumes will be selected in the next week. Costume Fees are due by the end of February! If your child is not going to participate in the recital and does not need a costume please let me know by Jan 20th. I have to order costumes next Friday to ensure they get here by May. Picture day will be set up as soon as I get a delivery date for the costumes.

We will begin working on our recital dances in the next few weeks! Any class changes that you might be interested in should be discussed now with Ms. Cathrine before routines are set and costumes are ordered.

Recital Fees The recital fees will remain the same this year: $50 for one child, $75 for 2 children and $100 for 3 children. Fees are due in May.

Spring Recital Date We will be selecting a recital date in the next week – last call for input! We have a small dilemma; June has 5 Saturdays this year. So would it be better for everyone to do the 23rd (the 4th Sat and the date we would usually use) or the 30th (the 5th Saturday and leading into 4th of July week) Please let us know what your preference is! As in previous years, plan for a 3pm show at Fort Lupton Middle School. Stage rehearsal times will be sent home once the date is confirmed with the school.

STARS OF TOMORROW

We are excited to be competing at the Stars of Tomorrow Competition again. It is an event sponsored by the Brighton Chapter of the Kiwanis, open to students from Brighton and allows them to showcase their hard work in a supportive environment. We will be sending Ballet IV (Mon 5:30) and Ballet V (Tues 7:15). We always have a great time doing this event and it provides wonderful performance experience. It takes place towards the end of Mar/early Apr exact times and dates will follow as soon as they are announced.

THE DENVER BALLET GUILD

We will be sending our students of eligible age (10 yrs & up + 2 years exp.) to The Denver Ballet Guild again this year. This is a state wide competition, the DBG brings in a teacher from somewhere in the world to teach a master class. When the girls are old enough (13 with pointe shoes) they may compete with a classical variation for scholarship money. This year’s teacher is Mr. Fabrice Herrault from Julliard. Make sure to send those forms now!

Culturefest

We will again plan to perform at the Brighton Culture Fest on June 4th. We usually perform at 11am (before it gets miserably hot!) It’s approx 30 minutes. More information will be sent out as we get closer.
